Leicester travelled to Newcastle on Sunday, a tight and tough game predicted and Newcastle would have been hoping for the win given their form this season.
An unremarkable backs move in the Newcastle 22 looked was turned on it’s head as Matt Tait put just enough weight on the pass for Telusa Veainu to beat the rushing defender and dance his way over the line. A contender for try of the week.
Veainu then beat more defenders in the wide channel to setup Ben Youngs who was supporting well on his inside. 3-14
Alex Tait and Vereniki Goneva combined with a 1-2 from ball out of a ruck to score before half time, with Toby Flood converting to make it a close 10-14 at half time.
2 minutes into the second half Toby Flood was able to add a penalty to take it up to a 1 point gap.
Leicester replied with 3 penalties, George Ford tucking them all away.
Tigers finished the game off when a brilliant kick-pass from George Ford found Jonny May who finished with ease after beating Alex Tait’s attempted tackle. George added the 2 points to finish the game at 13-30.
