In the cauldron of Twickenham the Australians fell to a dissapointing 30-6 loss to England in a tight game, whcih the scoreline doesn’t necessarily do justice. Another headline to come out of this game was from Australian number 7 Michael Hooper who received a record-breaking 8th yellow card in test match history.
Australia conceeded 3 points but held on well with Hooper off the field after Ben O’Keeffe sent the flanker to the bin for a number of offences inside the 22.
He now takes over a joint record held by himself, Marco Bortolami, Jamie Cudmore and Brian Hanabana. That moment was one of many that Michael Cheika, Australia’s head coach took issue with during the game. The reactions caught on TV could cause further issues for the coach following the game.
